The capital of African cinema
Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso and the home of FESPACO, the biennial Pan-African Film and Television Festival, one of the most important film events on the continent. The Village Artisanal gathers bronze casters, weavers and leatherworkers, and the National Museum displays masks and traditional architecture. Ouaga's maquis serve grilled chicken and riz gras, and live music fills the evenings. The city is also a centre of theatre and dance.
