Mushroom islands and Jellyfish Lake
Palau's Rock Islands Southern Lagoon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of several hundred small limestone islands, many undercut by the sea into mushroom shapes and covered in green forest. Kayaking and boat trips wind between them to the milky blue Milky Way, where visitors coat themselves in white clay, and to Jellyfish Lake, whose golden jellyfish evolved in isolation and lost most of their sting. Palau is famous for diving, especially at Blue Corner, where reef sharks and huge schools of fish gather in the current.
