Aruba

One happy island of sunshine and trade winds

Aruba sits just off the coast of Venezuela, outside the main hurricane belt, with reliable sunshine and cooling trade winds. Eagle Beach and Palm Beach are long stretches of white sand, and the wind-bent divi-divi trees are an island symbol. Oranjestad has Dutch colonial buildings in pastel colours. The rugged north coast and Arikok National Park have desert landscapes, caves with Indigenous rock drawings and the Natural Pool. The windy conditions make it a top spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
