Chobe National Park

Elephants by the thousand on the Chobe River

Chobe National Park holds one of the largest elephant populations in Africa, and in the dry season great herds gather along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and swim across to the floodplains. Boat cruises from Kasane get close to elephants, hippos, crocodiles and buffalo, while game drives on the riverfront find lions and sable antelope. The remote Savuti region in the park's interior is known for its predators. Kasane lies close to where Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet, making Victoria Falls an easy add-on.
