Gibraltar

A limestone rock at the mouth of the Mediterranean

Gibraltar is a small British overseas territory on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, dominated by a towering limestone rock. A cable car climbs to the top of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, home to Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys in Europe. Inside the rock are the Great Siege Tunnels, dug in the 18th century, and the vast St Michael's Cave. From the top you can see across the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco. Main Street is lined with British pubs and shops, and Europa Point marks the southernmost tip.
