Mahé

Granite peaks, forest and the tiny capital Victoria

Mahé holds most of the Seychelles' population and its small capital, Victoria, where the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market sells fish, fruit and spices beneath a silver clock tower modelled on one in London. The Morne Seychellois National Park covers the steep, forested centre, with trails such as the Copolia hike giving views over the coast. Around the island, Beau Vallon is the main swimming beach, and Anse Intendance and Anse Takamaka in the south are wilder. The Ste Anne Marine Park lies just offshore.
