The Caribbean's sailing capital
The British Virgin Islands are a cluster of more than fifty islands and cays around the Sir Francis Drake Channel, whose calm, sheltered waters make them one of the world's most popular places for a sailing holiday. On Virgin Gorda, The Baths are a maze of huge granite boulders forming pools and grottoes by the sea. Jost Van Dyke has White Bay and the Soggy Dollar Bar, said to be the birthplace of the Painkiller cocktail. Tortola, the main island, has Road Town and Cane Garden Bay, and Anegada is a flat coral island famous for lobster.
