Phong Nha-Ke Bang

Home of the world's largest cave

Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in central Vietnam protects a karst landscape riddled with some of the most impressive caves on Earth. Son Doong, first surveyed by explorers in 2009, is the largest known cave passage in the world and can only be visited on a costly, limited expedition. More accessible are the river cave of Phong Nha, reached by boat, and the extraordinary formations of Paradise Cave. Hang En and Tu Lan offer adventurous overnight caving and swimming, and the village of Phong Nha is a relaxed base.
