A harbour capital with blue holes and reefs
Port Vila is the small capital of Vanuatu, set on a harbour on the island of Efate. Its waterfront market overflows with tropical produce, and French and ni-Vanuatu influences mix in the cafés and restaurants. Around Efate, the Mele Cascades tumble down a series of limestone pools, and the blue holes on the east coast are clear freshwater pools for swimming. Hideaway Island has an underwater post office, and diving on the island's reefs and wrecks is excellent.
