An arched Ottoman bridge over a green river
Mostar is built around Stari Most, a graceful 16th-century Ottoman bridge arching high over the green Neretva river. The bridge was destroyed in 1993 and rebuilt using the original techniques, and is now a UNESCO site. Local divers leap from its top into the cold water below. Explore the old bazaar, climb the minaret of the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque for views, and take day trips to the Kravice waterfalls and the dervish house at Blagaj.
