Cox's Bazar

A seemingly endless sandy shore

Cox's Bazar sits at the start of a sandy beach that runs unbroken for more than 100 kilometres along the Bay of Bengal. It is Bangladesh's main seaside resort and very popular with domestic holidaymakers. The Marine Drive road follows the coast south to Teknaf, passing Inani Beach with its rocky shallows. Try fresh seafood and dried fish from the markets. From Teknaf, boats run to Saint Martin's Island, the country's only coral island.
