Mangrove waterways of the Bengal tiger
The Sundarbans spread across the delta of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers, a UNESCO site of mangrove islands and tidal channels shared with India. It is famous as a home of the Bengal tiger, though sightings are rare; spotted deer, crocodiles, monkeys and many birds are easier to see. Visits are by boat, usually on multi-day trips from Khulna or Mongla, with stops at watchtowers and forest stations. The best season is the dry winter.
