Pale sand, clear water and late nights
Ayia Napa is Cyprus's best-known resort, with fine pale sand and exceptionally clear, shallow water. Nissi Beach and Fig Tree Bay in nearby Protaras are the most famous stretches, while Cape Greco National Park has sea caves, cliff jumping spots and coastal trails. The town centre is built around a 16th-century Venetian monastery, but by night it is better known for its bars and clubs. Spring and autumn are calmer and still warm.
