Remote volcanic islands and blue lagoons
The Yasawa Islands stretch northwards from the Mamanucas in a long chain of rugged volcanic islands and white-sand beaches. Traditional Fijian villages are scattered across them, and visitors are often welcomed with a kava ceremony. A fast catamaran runs daily from Denarau, stopping at small eco-lodges and resorts along the way. Between May and October, manta rays feed in the channel near Drawaqa Island, and the limestone Sawa-i-Lau caves hold a pool you can swim through into a hidden chamber.
