Rafting and kayaking at the source of the Nile
Jinja sits on the northern shore of Lake Victoria where the White Nile begins its long journey to the Mediterranean, and a monument marks the source. The town has faded colonial-era buildings and a relaxed pace, but most visitors come for the river: white-water rafting, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, bungee jumping and quad biking. Gentler options include sunset boat trips to the source and birdwatching along the riverbanks.
