Canada's biggest city on the shore of Lake Ontario
Toronto is Canada's largest city and one of the most diverse anywhere, with nearly half its residents born outside the country. That shows in its neighbourhoods and food: Kensington Market, Chinatown, Little Portugal and Greektown along the Danforth. The CN Tower dominates the skyline, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario are major collections, and St Lawrence Market is a food lover's stop. In summer, ferries cross to the Toronto Islands for beaches and skyline views, and Niagara Falls is a day trip away.
