A laid-back dive town on the Gulf of Aqaba
Dahab began as a Bedouin fishing village and became a relaxed base for divers, windsurfers and travellers. Its seafront promenade is lined with low-key cafés and cushioned seating by the water, and the reefs begin a few metres from shore. North of town, the Blue Hole is a famous deep sinkhole in the reef, and the Canyon and the Lighthouse are popular dives. The lagoon to the south suits windsurfing and kitesurfing, and camel and jeep trips head into the Sinai mountains.
