Pyramids of Giza

The last standing wonder of the ancient world

The three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure were built around 4,500 years ago, and the Great Pyramid is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. You can go inside some of the pyramids through narrow passages, walk around the Great Sphinx, and ride a camel or horse out to the desert viewpoint where all three line up. Come at opening time to avoid the heat and crowds, and combine the visit with Saqqara's Step Pyramid and the ruins of Memphis.
