Siargao

The Philippines' surf capital

Siargao is a teardrop-shaped island off northeastern Mindanao, covered in coconut palms and known as the surf capital of the Philippines. Its most famous break is Cloud 9, a thick, hollow reef wave at General Luna, reached by a long wooden boardwalk. Beginners learn on gentler breaks nearby. Away from the surf, boats take visitors to the islands of Naked, Daku and Guyam, to swim in the Sugba Lagoon and to the natural rock pools at Magpupungko at low tide.
