Golden cliffs, sea caves and seafood
Portugal's southern coast is a run of honey-coloured cliffs, hidden coves and long sandy beaches. Boat trips reach sea caves like Benagil, Lagos and Tavira have charming old towns, and the Seven Hanging Valleys trail is one of Europe's great coastal walks. It's sunny much of the year, busy in July and August, and blissfully calm in spring and autumn.
