Old harbour, Roman gates and the Turquoise Coast
Antalya is the capital of the Turkish Riviera, a large modern city wrapped around the walled old quarter of Kaleiçi, where Ottoman houses, boutique hotels and the Roman Hadrian's Gate cluster above the old harbour. Konyaaltı and Lara beaches stretch either side, with the Taurus Mountains rising behind. The Antalya Museum is among the country's best for classical sculpture, and the region is scattered with ancient sites, including the theatre at Aspendos and the mountain city of Termessos.
