Kaş

A laid-back Lycian harbour for divers and walkers

Kaş is a small harbour town on the Lycian coast that has avoided large resort development. Its lanes are lined with bougainvillea, cafés and shops, and there's an ancient theatre just west of town facing the Greek island of Kastellorizo. The water is exceptionally clear, which makes Kaş a centre for diving and sea kayaking. Boat and kayak trips run to Kekova, where the ruins of a partly submerged ancient city lie just below the surface, and to the castle village of Simena.
