Long beaches and an unhurried island pace
Ko Lanta is a long, slender island south of Krabi with a slower rhythm than its neighbours. Its west coast is one long run of beaches, from Long Beach and Klong Dao in the north to quieter bays towards the national park at the southern tip. Lanta Old Town on the east coast has wooden houses on stilts over the water and a mixed Thai, Muslim, Chinese and Chao Leh heritage. Boat trips head to Ko Rok and the Emerald Cave at Ko Mook.
