Krka National Park

Waterfalls tumbling down a limestone canyon

Krka National Park protects the Krka River as it tumbles through a limestone canyon in a series of waterfalls. The most famous, Skradinski Buk, is a broad staircase of cascades crossed by wooden walkways. Boats lead upstream to Visovac, a tiny island monastery, and further to Roški Slap. The park is an easy trip from Šibenik, Split or Zadar, and the town of Skradin makes a pleasant entry point. Swimming beneath the falls is no longer allowed.
