A pastel fishing town on the Istrian coast
Rovinj is the prettiest town in Istria, its pastel houses rising straight from the sea to the Church of St Euphemia on the hilltop. Its Venetian heritage is everywhere, from the bell tower to the Italian that is still spoken. Wander the steep cobbled lanes, swim from the rocks in the Golden Cape forest park and eat Istrian specialities such as truffles and fresh seafood. The Lim Fjord and the inland hill town of Motovun are nearby.
