Royal palaces, arcades and chocolate
Turin was Italy's first capital and home of the Savoy royal family, whose palaces and arcaded boulevards give the city a stately, almost Parisian air. It has one of the world's great Egyptian collections, a cinema museum inside the soaring Mole Antonelliana, and historic cafés serving bicerin, a layered drink of coffee, chocolate and cream. Piedmont's cooking is rich, from agnolotti to white truffles, and the Langhe wine country is close by.
