Málaga

Picasso's hometown on the Costa del Sol

Málaga has grown from an airport transfer into a destination in its own right. Picasso was born here, and the Museo Picasso holds a fine collection, alongside the Centre Pompidou Málaga and the Carmen Thyssen museum. The Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress, climbs the hill above a Roman theatre, with the Gibralfaro castle higher still. The Atarazanas market and the old town's tapas bars are lively, and La Malagueta beach is a short walk away. Ronda, Nerja and the Caminito del Rey are within reach.
