A white town split by a dizzying gorge
Ronda sits on a plateau split in two by El Tajo, a gorge more than 100 metres deep, crossed by the Puente Nuevo, a stone bridge completed in the 18th century. The views from the bridge and the paths beneath it are the reason to come. Ronda also has one of Spain's oldest bullrings, Moorish baths and a quiet old quarter. It was a favourite of Hemingway and Orson Welles. Around it lie the white villages of Andalucía, such as Setenil de las Bodegas, and the Sierra de Grazalema.
