Chefchaouen

The blue town of the Rif mountains

Chefchaouen's old medina is washed in every shade of blue, climbing a hillside in the Rif mountains. It's small, calm and made for slow wandering with a camera, especially early in the morning before tour groups arrive. Walk up to the hilltop Spanish Mosque for sunset, or head into the mountains to swim beneath the waterfalls near Akchour.
