A colonial jewel of cobbles and galleries
San Miguel de Allende is a beautifully preserved colonial town in Mexico's central highlands, its cobbled streets lined with ochre and terracotta houses. The neo-Gothic Parroquia rises over the main square, galleries and studios fill the side streets, and rooftop terraces make the most of the sunsets. It's a UNESCO site and a favourite for slow, food-filled stays.
