Maya ruins above a turquoise sea
Tulum's Maya ruins stand on a cliff above one of the Caribbean's most photographed beaches. Around them the town has grown into a hub of beach hotels and restaurants, while inland the jungle hides cenotes, freshwater sinkholes perfect for swimming and snorkelling. South of town, the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve protects lagoons, mangroves and wildlife.
