Surf beaches and theme parks
The Gold Coast is Australia's best-known holiday strip, a long run of golden surf beaches from Main Beach to Coolangatta, lined with high-rise towers. Surfers Paradise is the busiest part, with nightlife and the SkyPoint observation deck, while breaks such as Burleigh Heads and Snapper Rocks draw surfers. The theme parks, including Dreamworld, Sea World and Movie World, are a big draw for families. Inland, the hinterland rises to the rainforests of Lamington and Springbrook national parks.
