A harbour city of beaches and ferries
Sydney is built around one of the world's great natural harbours, and the best way to see it is from a ferry. The sails of the Sydney Opera House and the arch of the Harbour Bridge face each other across Circular Quay, with the old sandstone lanes of The Rocks beside them. The Royal Botanic Garden curves around the water to Mrs Macquarie's Chair. Beyond the centre, Bondi and Manly are the famous surf beaches, and the clifftop walk from Bondi to Coogee is one of the city's great pleasures.
