The city of dreaming spires
Oxford has been a university city for more than 900 years, and its colleges, chapels and quadrangles fill the centre in golden Cotswold stone. The Radcliffe Camera and the Bodleian Library are the heart of it, and colleges such as Christ Church, with its great hall and cathedral, can be visited. The Ashmolean is Britain's oldest public museum, and the Pitt Rivers Museum is a wonderful cabinet of curiosities. Punt on the Cherwell, drink in an old pub, and climb a tower for the famous view of spires.
