Sunshine, beaches and the home of Hollywood
Los Angeles is less a single city than a collection of very different places joined by freeways. Hollywood has the Walk of Fame and the studio tours, Griffith Observatory gives the best view of the Hollywood Sign and the basin below, and the Getty Center sits on a hilltop above the city with art and gardens. Down on the coast, Santa Monica's pier and Venice's boardwalk lead to Malibu's beaches. The food scene is one of America's best, from Koreatown barbecue to taco trucks. A car, or a lot of patience, is essential.
