Skyscrapers, museums and the city that never sleeps
New York is the city most people have already seen in films before they arrive, and it still manages to surprise. Midtown's towers and Times Square give way to the brownstones of the West Village, the galleries of Chelsea and the long green sweep of Central Park. The Metropolitan Museum and MoMA could fill a week, Broadway fills the evenings, and the food runs from bagels and pizza slices to some of the finest restaurants anywhere. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge at dusk and take the free Staten Island Ferry past the Statue of Liberty.
