Arches, canyons and red-rock adventure
Moab is the base for two of Utah's great parks. Arches National Park has more than 2,000 natural stone arches, and the walk to Delicate Arch at sunset is the classic outing. Canyonlands, next door, is a maze of canyons cut by the Colorado and Green rivers, best seen from the Island in the Sky mesa and Mesa Arch at sunrise. Dead Horse Point State Park overlooks a sweeping bend of the Colorado. The town itself is built for adventure: mountain biking on slickrock, jeep trails, climbing and river rafting.
